How to find us in San Cassiano and in the Val Badia

One of the strengths of the Residence A Val is its strategic position, in the city centre of San Cassiano, few kilometres away from Corvara and Colfosco. The geographic area where the San Cassiano municipality is situated takes the name of Val Badia and stands inside South Tyrol borders. The Val Badia valley is conventionally divided in two big areas: the Alta Val Badia and the Bassa Val Badia. Corvara, Badia and San Cassiano belong to the first one, whereas La Valle, San Martino and Marebbe, among others, belong to the second one.

If you want to reach San Cassiano from the main cities of northern Italy, take the highway A22 up to Bolzano Nord, and proceed towards Ponte Gardena along the SS12 and the SS242. Alternatively, proceed along the highway A22 up to Bressanone-Val Pusteria, then along the SS49 up to San Lorenzo and then along the SS244 up to San Cassiano. For those coming from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region or from Padua, Vicenza, Venice, go towards Belluno and follow Cortina. There are several private services of buses and shuttle buses for those who want to leave their car at home or make the first part of the travel by train or by plane. The closest railway station to San Cassiano is Ponte Gardena, whereas the reference airport is the Flughafen Innsbruck-Kranebitten (Innsbruck – Austria), only 130 kilometres away. Other options that can be taken into account for those coming from Italy are the airports of Venice and Treviso.

San Cassiano: a little paradise in winter and summer

San Cassiano, the Alta Badia and the Val Badia, in general, have 2 sides, the summery one and wintry one. San Cassiano during summer means walks in woods, visits to Alpine huts, fishing, climbing, horse-riding tours or bicycle's tours, naturalistic photography, feasts in lodge... San Cassiano during winter, on the other hand, is a mix of snow-rackets, skis and snowboards, saunas and hot springs, mushrooms' hunting, Christmas street markets' tour and much more. For a more detailed description of what to do and see during your holiday in San Cassiano, we have prepared some articles which will guide you through the various entertainments in the Alta Val Badia.
